Rifles for Watie is about a 16 year old boy, Jeff Busey, who embarks on one of the biggest challenges of his life; joining the Union. Soon, however, he discovers that Watie and the Indians are not as malicious as the Union soldiers told him. He finds the Union is almost worst then the rebels; stealing their food and unmercifully killing the Indians infront of everyone. Slowly, Jeff even falls in love with a rebel girl, which takes him to the most vital decision of all: Fight for what everyone says he’s supposed to fight for, or fight for what he believes is right.

Uncle Matthew forbids Kit to see Hannah, but Kit persists in visiting her friend and even helps an abused child named Prudence find solace there. When an epidemic causes the townspeople to go after Hannah for practicing witchcraft, Kit helps her escape. Then Kit herself becomes the subject of the witch hunt. Her incarceration and trial force her to reexamine her feelings towards two young men and her future. In the end, Kit must choose the direction her life will take.

They travel quietly around the countryside; never staying in one place too long so that people will not realize their secret. Into this family comes Winnie Foster, a little girl in search of freedom. She learns their secret and falls in love with them so deeply that she will do anything to protect them. The family and Winnie then must face a villain who would steal their secret for himself.
The Adventure of Ulysses – Bernard Evslin
“The Adventures of Ulysses” by Bernard Evslin is a modern interpretation of Homer’s classic “The Odyssey.” The story follows Ulysses’ journey to Ithaca, his home, after his efforts in the Trojan War. While being plagued by the god of the sea, Poseidon, Ulysses and his crew falter through many adventures before Ulysses finally finds his way home.
